Working, working, working....lalala--lala-la-la. Below is a peek at one of the upcoming pieces for the month of April. I was going to ship the piece below, "Give Me Something Good To Eat" to Pennsylvania for the Halloween Convention (see post below), and realized if I did and it sold I wouldn't have enough work for the SpookyTime Jingles' April offerings. YIKES!!
How are the rest of you doing it? I am working everyday (including weekends) and in the evenings, I'm spending fewer hours on the computer (I owe so many of you comments that I apologize...again), and I still am not getting ahead. Am I just that slow at putting these little things together or what? Suggestions or recommendations are appreciated!
Hmmm, do you suppose I should quit using that 20/0 brush a little bit less?!!!? HA!
Have a great day and happy creating!
Laurie
This little fellow is (as always) fantastic! I knew from the lack of posts that you must be working your tail off! I'm glad you're having fun (you are, right?). Don't work to hard!
ReplyDeleteSuperb! I am amazed at how precise your work is. I bet you are wearing the hairs out of those teensy weensy brushes.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way you do...working days, nights, off and on during the weekends....juggling computer stuff, blogging, promoting....and i feel like i never get enough done and can't let up. Shoowee, the curse and blessing of being an artist!
I am just glad i can take breaks to check my blogger dashboard and take peeks at what other artists are up to. It makes me feel connected.
Happy Spooky Tuesday to you,
Carrie
Laurie - no one on the planet gets more done that you do! And I just packed off all my stuff to Philly and am staring at...NOTHING. So I guess I'll be a busy bee, too. I hope you're not getting blisters on your fingers!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful sense of some serious fun. Love it.
ReplyDeleteWow wow wow! I've never seen anything like these. I LOVE your work. What a fun, spooky discovery!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Nicole
Girl,
ReplyDeleteI am with you. My table is the only thing that has really seen me of late. LOL That and the view outside.
LOVE Your newest creations. That ball and this little guy are so wonderful. Just love them!!! As always your work is stunning.
You keep plugging along and I will keep you in my thoughts while I do the same. LOL
Have a wonderful, over productive week. LOL
Hugs,Pea
Your itty-bitty brush is what makes your work so special! Great Folk Art isn't for Sissies!!!!!!

Oh gosh, I know I'm not alone, but I am amazed with the amount of work so many of you get done monthly and I am really starting to panic about how much I can get done and save by September,... plus I have my commission list to get done too, which I worry about losing if I don't keep at them. I just foolishly took on too much with April deadlines and at my age I should know better.
ReplyDeleteI had a pretty productive day today and I am close to finishing a witch (hooray, a female figure), and a new skelly. "Count Vacula" got a splash of paint on today too...only his teeth look buckey-beaver-like so I may have work to do on him.
Thank you all so much for stopping by and pumping me up!! It is such good energy.
I have all day to work tomorrow with only one little errand so I am pumped!!!
Laurie
He is too cute...actually his smile and eyes look like my Dad LOL, which is why I laughed when I first saw him..
ReplyDeletewith me, the minute I find myself getting overwhelmed and behind, I take a day or so to just do nothing..gives me a day to re-coup, refresh, energize. My husband asked me why I get so flustered and overwhelmed with it, when it should be enjoyable for me, not a pain lol..
anyhow, he's gorgeous, as is EVERYTHING you make ..
No way, you KEEP using that 20/0 brush! That is why you are special :) Love this guy. Love his bucket! Try doing that with any old brush!!! Amazing. xoxo
