I also roughed in several snowmen this week. The little fellow below has a carrot nose and an over sized top hat. and two "stick" arms. I think he gets a scarf today... he needs it to break up that large body of his.
That's how I work. I sculpt, set a piece down, work on another, then look back on the piece I worked on earlier and let it tell me what it needs. That little bit of separation during the creative process is very necessary for me to keep moving forward in the design of the pieces.
That's this weeks peek into the studio and my artsy little mind.
Have a great weekend!

Laurie your amazing~
I love your work!
On that snowman how do you get his fingers so thin? And don't you worry about them breaking?
: ) Pattee
They both already look like fun pieces, Laurie, and have your signature look to them! Now I'm anxious to see their personalities come alive!
Thanks for the sneak peek!!
Suzie
Pattee,
They are wired so no I don't worry about breakage on these.
Thanks Suzie...and I was just thinking they don't have their look yet...the snowman now has a scarf and I like him better!!
Have a great weekend!
Oh yes they do already have personality! Thanks for the peek into your process! It's the same for me...work on multiple things, mental break, then get the energy to finish one off...yes yes YES! I really want to try some bodies.. I feel so jippy just making big old heads all the time, when I first started, I made what I called "goblins" they had very long and spindly legs....now I want to try more sculptural pieces, maybe some animals. A deer flying over a moon? maybe a cat? Love the inspiration I always feel when I visit your blog Laurie!!
Happy Creating!

Thank you Brandi...I love your big ole' heads girl so don't abandon them!!!
Thanks Michelle! I had a really good day yesterday and have the three snowmen ready to set and dry for a week. I'm off to make a few things for them to hold in their stick like fingers today.
Have a great weekend!
