Winston Wabbit WIP

Crazy weekend here with me not getting as much done in the studio as I had hoped, but I did make some progress on what I think will be my last "Wabbit" of the season, "Winston". I finished his first layer of facial paint yesterday and worked on his egg body on Friday, but there is still much to be done. Below is "Winston" amongst his naked WIP (works in progress) buddies! (He has a bucket and bow tie, but they are being painted separately, and I didn't put them in the photographs.)

Winston loves his bunny slippers, "Puff" and "Fluff". They keep his toes warm!

Below is a close up of "Winston's" face. I still have some finish work to do on his face and as you can see I have lots of painting to finish on his Easter egg decorated body.

What was I thinking when I sketched out his body paint design? Circles inside circles with stripes...remind me not to do that again because I then have to outline them with the finishing color to antique the surface.

Hope you like him! I'm off to the studio table to start painting again...have a great week!

  6. Pam you have no idea how many paint brushes I go through. When I find them on sale I'll buy a dozen of my favorite....then I mark them so I know not to use a new brush for glazing. "Destroyer of brushes" should be my nickname!!!

Jackie...he doesn't know where they came from because they were a gift from his "sweetie"...HA!!!

Back to paint for me...he is coming along today!

  15. Laurie, I just love Winston!!! He has such a sweet expression and those bunny slippers are just to-die for cute!

I'm a brush-wrecker. I should be in a 12 step program ... but I buy inexpensive brushes so I don't feel quite so guilty. I love the flats ... and have a bunch in every size I could find. I've even tried all those cleaning solutions and gels ... to no avail. ;~) I still ruin brushes.

Again, Winston is just fabulous!!! I can't wait to see his photos when he's all finished.

    Cheers,
    Dana

  16. Thank you Mariann!!

Oh Candy, I bet you do understand!!

Ah William, everybody needs a good pair of bunny slippers!

    Thank you Desperate Blogger!

Dana...brushes are a buge issue with me. Just ruined another round 4 and 6 today on a gourd head figure. I was over half done before I realized I was scrubbing colors together on the surface and I had created two new fuzzy headed brushes...oh boy--bad Laurie!!!

He is DONE!!! I will post a picture in the next day or two.

    Thank you all!
