The sun is shining so the two of us are having a great day of painting...yes, Jake did manage to get that big ole' monkey tail in the mixed paint. (Good thing he doesn't mind a good tail washing. )
Oh, I love the picture with the kitty helping you. Ours passed on a few years back and my heart can't stand to replace her. Laurie, I have to replace my art lamp that clamps on my table. Yours looks like a good sturdy one. Do you mind telling me where you got it? The clamps always seem to wear out on me. Thanks, Tammy
Good grief Len, look again!!....I'm thinking not so tidy when you look closely. Thanks for thinking it looks pretty well picked up though. When I'm sculpting it's pretty messy, but today was a painting day, which is a less messy process for me.
Tammy, the clamps for both my table lights came with the Ott lights I selected. I really like them because the light lifts completely out of the clamp and also has a weighted base so they can be used in either way. A bit pricey initially, I won't paint with any other type of light now. If you have Hobby Lobby's in your area wait for a coupon and go buy them there then. I have four Ott lights total, and they create a really good painting light for me in the evenings. I have a sculpting buddy in Oklahoma and she has me beat on the number of Ott lights in a studio space....give me time though, give me time!! HA! Laurie
Laurie - I am hypnotized by your clean studio!! LOL! Your kitty is so cute, sunny himself. :) The sun makes all the difference - we have had a simply glorious Spring day! xox Pam
Thanks Laurie, I thought they might be Ott lights. My mom is an artist and uses them too. She swears by hers also. I have had the light that just wore out for over 11 years. It is glued and duct taped together but it worked! It was a true daylight one but not a Ott and I really like it. Thanks for sharing the info and believe me, that is a CLEAN workspace.
Liz, Jake doesn't stay on the table like Elwood does, and sometimes I have both cats...no problem though, they just move my paint, palette and water containers to make space for themselves. They are fun boys!
Thanks Pam...I guess I didn't realize I sort the paints by color so maybe I am more organized than I thought--HA!!
Oh, Laurie, what a perfect picture, indeed. I miss my cat so much. He was black and his name was Jake. The comments about your clean studio are spot on, in spite of you having to wash Jake's tail. I think it's a requisite of every studio to have a cat. maybe it's the witch in me. LOL. Trish
sounds like a purr-fect day!
ReplyDeleteGood heavens, did you clean your work area for this picture or are you a tidy person? My studio is a mess!

Jake is adorable. It's nice to have a faithful companion by your side when you're creating.
