Trick or Treat Stanley

UPDATE:  Sold...thank you, Nancy!!!!
I have been working like crazy in the studio for weeks tying up loose ends and meeting obligations I have had so I could start work on my new Halloween creations.    It is official, the calendar is clear and I am now working on Halloween exclusively until the 2013 season is over.  I have signed my contract to return to the Halloween show, Ghoultide Gathering, in Chelsea, Michigan, for another year and I am delighted to be returning with new works.  With that said, my brain is whirling and the pencil has been put to paper so as not to lose those precious ideas and notions.  Some works are already being translated into paper mache and paint and I hope some of them will delight and enchant you as Halloween approaches.

I realize tomorrow is Easter and a bit early for Halloween, but the bunnies have already fled the studio the minute they spotted the Halloween drawings plus the orange and black paint beginning to replace the pastels of the season.  That is when "Trick or Treat Stanley" stepped forward with his little kitty mask and candy cup and asked to be offered early to customers....(I actually think he is secretly hoping there will be some extra Easter candy to be placed in his candy container.)

"Trick or Treat Stanley" is a one-of-a-kind original, hand sculpted from paper mache, with wood, wire and feathers added to complete the figure.  He stands at just over 14" to the top of  his curled stem and holds his kitty cat mask (that lines up with his eyes when placed over his face) and a candy cup with his twin, Oliver's, image painted on it.  He will come signed, dated and numbered.

Stanley will be available Easter day on the EHAG Emporium, at 9 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.  The first person to email me at, monkeycatsstudio@charter.net, after the Emporium opens wishing to purchase Stanley will become his proud new owner.  I hope you find him to your liking!

Happy Easter all!

Barney Bunny

HE WAS DISCOVERED...Thank you Leanne!!
I have another Spring candy cup for sale, Barney Bunny, that will go to the first collector that emails me regarding this post.  I'm not advertising this on Facebook today so it may take a little while for this to be discovered.  Barney is $95 plus shipping and insurance.  If you want this little fellow email me at:
monkeycatsstudio@charter.net

Barney is holding an Easter egg in one hand and is surrounded on the candy cup by eggs about the candy cup body along with a top scalloped border and pastel orbs.  His blue eyes match his bow tie and coordinate with the surrounding blue elements in the cups design.

I hope you are the one to discover this little fellow to add to your Spring collection....they look great with pastel jelly bellies in them!  Just an FYI...these are made of paper mache so they cannot be immersed in water for cleaning.

Good luck!!!

Two New Spring Candy Cups

(Both have sold...thank you so much!!!) Finding time in the studio seems to be an issue for me of late, but I did manage to complete a few candy cups after a recent trip to the Southwest. Yes, warming my bones, touring trading posts and galleries,  and enjoying the unique blend of cultures that area of our country offers was just what the doctor ordered.  It's renewing for me and I'm ready to get back at it!!

The weather in New Mexico and Arizona reminded me very much of the spring season and influenced my decision to paint two bunny candy cups in pastel colors. Below are Beauregard (Beau) and Benjamin (Ben) Bunny.

The first little candy cup has Beau Bunny holding an Easter egg, painted on a blue background surrounded with pastel orbs in coordinating colors, and a scalloped border encircling the top edge.  The candy cup has a hand-twisted wire handle in an antique brass finish to coordinate with the design.  More views of this candy cup can be found on my Flickr site.

The second candy cup shows Ben Bunny on the front.  Ben sits on a pastel green background shrugging his shoulders at the Easter egg suspended from the scalloped border at top edge of the candy cup.  This candy cup also has an added hand-twisted wire handle in an antique brass finish.

Both cups measure 2.25” to top of the cup (9” to the top of the wire handle) x 2.75” x 2.75”.  The candy cups are made of paper mache and wire and are hand-painted in acrylic paint.  They are then sealed with a matte polymer varnish after they are signed and numbered.

Both candy cups will be available this Sunday, February 10th,  on PFATT Marketplace, at 1 p.m. EST.  Remember to refresh the link to update the page.

Hope you like them!
