I finally finished Chester Chimp, but not without some extra steps being involved. As many of you know I have two cats, Jake and Elwood, the Monkey-Cats. I've never been good about keeping them out of my studio and off of the table...I guess I'm just a bad kitty momma. Anyway, when I sculpt bow ties, small bats or other little extras for a figures adornment, I usually sculpt them separately before adding them to the body of the characters. Well, one of the two boys, who shall be nameless (Jake), took a liking to Chester's bow tie. I have searched and searched for that little piece and it is nowhere to be found, not even in his favorite hiding spots. Consequently, a new bow tie had to be sculpted (twice mind you) before I finally got one to add to Chester's attire.
Chester's bow tie is now firmly attached, as is the wire for Barnabas Bat. Chester also went into the cabinet to prevent a cat tail or imaginary wind from making the bat vibrate and creating the need for a cat attack.
Remind me if I have new kittens in the future to keep them out of the studio space.
Hope you like how he turned out!
Laurie

He is absolutely sweet! Thanks for sharing :)
Laurie... your Chester is absolutely the most charming chimp I've seen in a long time; perhaps a life time! Warm Wishes... Daryle
Laurie, I think I'm in love with a chimp. Don't breath a word of it to anyone. :^)
He is so cute! I'm glad you got all that extra practice with the bow ties - haha. Have a great weekend! xox Pam
Love Chester's cute expression! I totally understand about having two cats, I do too! They are always stealing parts that are drying, or eating yarn hair, etc.
Adorable, Laurie!!! My lil' Hannah was a klepto too. ((giggle))
