Visions of Stars & Bats Danced in His Head

Something new this week. This is the second in a series of small bat buzzed pumpkin heads entitled, "Visions of Stars and Bats Danced in His Head." This is however, the first pumpkin that appears to have a dental program since all of his teeth are neatly aligned to form his lovely smile. The clay blend pumpkin head sits atop a hand-sewn dyed raffia collar on a papier mache base. The 2 stars suspended over his head on black curled wire are metal, and the small bat is made of a clay blend. The triangular papier mache base is painted with 2 silly faced pumpkins with tiny little bats on the front, and black silhouette pumpkins on the sides. All painting is done in acrylic paints.

The little pumpkin head has hazel eyes and plump little cheeks with small dimples when he smiles. He stands 11.5" tall to the tip of his star and is 5" wide by 5" deep. The wires can be bent with care to gently alter the position of the bat and stars.

This little guy will be available August 13, on SpookyTime Jingles marketplace along with "Gone Batty," shown below in the July 23, posting. I've been checking the Flickr site for works in progress by the other STJ artists and it looks to be an exciting month!!!! You need to get this on your calendar!!
